I still maintain the belief that desperate times call for desperate measures. News has been traveling fast about the latest public case of sexual harassment where blogger Asser Yasser was the victim. It is now evident (just as I had expected) that the law in Egypt is not designed to protect the victim. Not only that, but it seems that the trial was a total farce, as told to me by Asser herself. The judge dismissed the case without listening to any testimony from the plaintiff's side, and returned with a non guilty verdict for the offender. This is a slap on the face to every sexual crime victim out there.
Ladies, I implore you. Take it from someone who's been there. Carry a weapon. I can't stress it enough. If you don't like guns, then carry pepper spray, or use a stun gun. Learn how to defend yourself. The only way to prevent sexual assault is by NOT becoming a victim. If you cannot obtain a weapon, then learn some self defense techniques.
Use the weapons mother nature gave you. Be loud and scream. Don't yell rape. Instead yell FIRE. People respond more readily to the threat of fire.
Commit yourself 100% to the fight and forget your fear. Use it to stay alive. Use your fear to fuel your anger. Be angry and be vigilant about your survival.
The quickest way to incapacitate an assailant is his eyes. Steal his vision. Press hard with your thumbs in his eye socket to pop his eyes out. Or learn the more efficient method. Put a car key in your palm and make a fist while the key sticks out. Use your fist with the key to cut his eyes out.
Bite hard with your teeth, enough to tear flesh. If you bite hard enough you will crush bone. It is easier than you think.
Use your elbows and use your head against his nose and face. Crush his nose with your head.
Dig your heels in his genitals. It's one of the most vulnerable areas of the body along with the kidneys. Kick his sides where his kidneys are. If you kick hard enough you will rupture some of his organs. Do whatever you can to incapacitate him.
Be savage, be violent, and be safe. But most importantly, be prepared. Because the justice system does not have your back.
I realize that many will find my advice rather distasteful, but like I said, desperate times call for desperate measures. There are others who view it similarly too.
